Awareness session on human trafficking and child marriage

A workshop on creating awareness against human trafficking and child marriage was organised in Kensili Barkatia High Madrassa. An attempt was made to make the students aware of the trends and pitfalls of social evils like human trafficking and child marriage. They had overall idea at what age a child becomes adolescent as per law and child marriage. But the conception of surrogacy was new to them. The students informed that they are forced into ‘zari’ work. The end of the program saw the formation of Swayangsiddha group, who would prepare a map of their village and make a list of children who have dropped out.
