Child marriage is no solution for adolescence-related issues


Our girls and boys are growing up fast and we wonder when and with whom they will fall in love! Many families of Jayatala in Baruipur have found a solution to problem after much brainstorming. And what is it? They are marrying off a 13-year-old girl with a boy of 16 years! Both the groom and the bride, though, are staying with their own families for now. But while the boy is continuing with his studies, the girl is dropping out of school after marriage! The trend has left the teachers of Jayatala High School worried. They know that this cannot be a solution for adolescence-related and adolescence-induced issues and crises. Rather, such underage marriages lead these minors to various forms of domestic abuse and social problems.
